Pancreas/Kidney Graft Improves Survival for Type 1 Patients
In patients with type 1 diabetes and end-stage renal disease, a combined pancreas/kidney transplant was associated with significantly better 15-year survival than a single kidney graft alone. Patients who got the simultaneous transplant were 30% more likely to survive to 15 years than were those who received a living donor
